Number from 1 to 9 in a row.
You've probably been asked for your member number, account number, or routing number before. And if you're like most people, your first thought might’ve been, "Wait...what’s the difference?" These three numbers work together, but each has a completely different job. Knowing which one to use can save you time and frustration.

Your Member Number
Think of your member number as your membership ID. It tells us who you are as a member of Champion Credit Union. Your member number stays with you and connects all of your accounts together.
From savings and checking accounts to any loan you may have, they're all connected under your member number. You'll typically use your member number in the following situations:
•    Identifying yourself as a member.
•    Logging into certain services.

Your Account Number
You can have several different account numbers. Imagine your member number is your home address. Your checking account number for instance, would be one of the rooms inside your house. Your checking account, or any other of your account numbers, tells money exactly where to go.
If your employer is setting up direct deposit or someone is sending money to your checking account, they will need your checking account number, not your member number.
You'll use your account number in the following situations:
•    Direct deposit
•    Automatic payments
•    ACH transfers
•    Tax processing

Your Routing Number
This one doesn't identify you at all. It identifies your financial institution. Every financial institution has its own routing number. Champion Credit Union’s routing number is 253174903. When money is moving electronically, the routing number tells the payment system which financial institution should receive it.
You'll use a routing number in the following situations:
•    Direct deposit
•    Automatic payments
•    Tax processing

Remember the following:
•    Your member number identifies you.
•    Your account number identifies the specific account where your money belongs.
•    The routing number identifies the financial institution.
