Since 1932, Champion Credit Union has proudly served the communities in Western North Carolina. We believe in passionately impacting and supporting the communities that support us. Our Community CONNECT initiative is designed to connect you with the community you are a part of and provide education for financial topics that effect each of us. Through this initiative, our goal is simple. Create awareness of your credit union membership and how impactful it can be, while helping to navigate you through some of the financial issues of today.

Being a member of a credit union means that you help us to passionately impact our community...
Continuing the principles of our cooperative founders, credit unions are called to extend service to the communities in which we are a part of. We reach out and try and help all we can. By being a member and borrowing money with us, we are able to reinvest that money back in the community in various ways.
We seek to contribute to local organizations and efforts that align with our mission. While all requests for support are considered, our areas of primary focus include:
- Financial Literacy,
- School Clubs and Organizations/Athletics, and
- Local Non-Profit Organizations.
Throughout the year you will find our team proudly wearing their Champion Credit Union lime green community shirts and volunteering their time to various organizations. The difference between those days and Community CONNECT Week, is that Community CONNECT Week is a full week of service in which we partner with several local non-profits, that allows everyone to get involved.
We are here to make a difference, not only in banking, but also in the community.
Check out our Community CONNECT Calendar to see where we will be and find other happenings in the area.

Champion Credit Union has established scholarships to assist high school seniors within our field of membership to attend a community or university college. A committee has been established to review the applicants and make recommendations. The Haywood County Schools Foundation is the fiscal agent for the scholarships and the Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipients.
