Champion Credit Union has a long and storied history of assisting the communities that we serve.
From teaching financial literacy in area schools and supporting local sports teams, to providing college scholarships and sponsoring holiday events, our service to our members extends beyond branch transactions.
To be more effective in our efforts, we dedicated September 10th – 15th, 2018 entirely to community service.
During the week, dubbed Community CONNECT Week, we partnered with 7 outstanding organizations. The tasks for each day varied, but our mission was the same: to passionately impact the community.
In total, Champion Credit Union employees gave approximately 350 volunteer hours to the organizations of their choice during Community CONNECT Week. Tasks included assisting Haywood Waterways Association with their annual Kids in the Creek program, making enrichment items for rescue animals at Asheville Humane Society and Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation, aiding in local home construction with Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, revitalizing Canton Little League fields, hosting a blood drive with The Blood Connection, and participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
