We understand that change can be a source of uncertainty, but we want to assure that this merger is designed to bring substantial benefits to all our members. Champion Credit Union and Ecusta Credit Union share a common commitment to providing exceptional financial services, and by joining forces, we aim to deliver an even more robust and comprehensive range of offerings. This merger is an opportunity to enhance the financial well-being of our collective membership.

The Ecusta system will officially merge with Champion CU's system on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024.

Here are some frequently asked questions and answers for Ecusta CU accountholders regarding the merger:

Q: When is the system merger?
A: The system merger will take place on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024.

Q: Will there be any downtime where I will not be able to access my account(s)?
A: Yes, there will be a period of downtime on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 when the files begin to merge where Ecusta accounts will not be able to be accessed, including at the ATM. We will update a notice on our website once the merger is complete. Please make preparations for this downtime.

Q: Will the Ecusta office be closed during the system merger?
A: Yes, the Ecusta office will be closed on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 during the system merger process.

Q: Will my account number change?
A: Yes. All Ecusta members will receive a new 10-digit member number. This 10-digit number will start with “7” followed by padding “0” and end with your existing Ecusta account number. For example: If your existing account number is “1234,” your new member number will be “7000001234.” If it is “123456,” your new member number will be “7000123456.”

Q: Do I need to change my existing direct deposits?
A: The Ecusta CU routing number will route transactions to Champion CU so they will continue to post to your account. Any future direct deposits can be set up using your Champion CU account information, which can be accessed in digital banking or provided to you in a Champion CU office.

Q: Will I need to order new checks?
A: The Ecusta CU routing number will route transactions to Champion CU so you can continue to use any checks you have remaining. Your information will update with your next check order.

Q: Will my online banking change?
A: Yes. All Ecusta members who want to use digital (online and mobile) banking will need to register and create new login credentials to access your accounts.
  • Bill Pay information will not transfer from Ecusta. Payees and other bill payment information will need to be set up in digital banking under Move Money.
  • Ecusta CU Bill Pay users will be deactivated on September 30th, 2024. Any pending electronic payments set to occur on or after this date will be cancelled.
  • All users who want to receive their statements electronically will need to set e-Statements up in digital banking under Statements.
Q: Will my Ecusta debit and/or credit card(s) still work?
A: All Ecusta members will be issued new Champion CU debit and/or credit cards to replace existing Ecusta CU cards. You can activate and begin using your debit card on October 2nd, 2024 and your credit card on October 15th, 2024.

Q: Can I visit any Champion CU office and/or ATM?
A: Beginning October 2, 2024, you will be able to visit and transact business at any Champion CU office and/or ATM.

Q: Will the terms of my existing Ecusta loan(s) change?
A: Your existing loan contracts will remain in effect until the loan is paid in full.

Q: Will the terms of my existing Ecusta share certificate change?
A: The terms of your existing share certificate(s) will remain the same until maturity.

Q: Will the terms of my existing share and checking account(s) change?
A: Beginning October 1, 2024, regular share (savings) and checking account terms will update to Champion CU rates and terms. Information on these can be found in the Champion CU welcome packet or provided to you in a Champion CU office.

Q: Will anything change with my Christmas Club Account?
A: Each year in early November, Champion CU automatically transfers funds from the Christmas Club account to the primary savings account. On November 9th, 2024, any balance in the Christmas Club account will be transferred to savings. It will zero out the Christmas Club account, but it will not close the account. Anything deposited after the transfer date will continue to accrue like normal.

Q: Will the Ecusta branch remain open after the systems merge?
A: The Ecusta branch will remain open with the service and support needed to help you experience more. The hours of operation will also remain unchanged.
 
Q: Does Champion CU offer Zelle?
A: Champion CU does not currently offer Zelle, but we provide an easy-to-use money management tool in our app that lets you move and transfer your money with ease. Check out our video to see how it works!
 
Q: Will my accounts continue to be insured?
A: Yes. Your accounts will still maintain the same share insurance through the National Credit Union Administration.

Here are some frequently asked questions and answers for Champion CU accountholders regarding the merger:

Q: Will the Champion CU offices be closed during the system merger?
A: Aside from the Ecusta office being closed, all remaining Champion CU offices will be closing at 3 pm on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. 

Q: What can Champion CU accountholders expect during and after the merger?
A: Existing Champion CU accountholders will not experience any changes once the merger is complete. It will be business as usual, with another branch in Brevard available for you to use.

During the merger process on October 1st, 2024, Champion CU accountholders can expect the following:

  • CCU debit and credit cards will continue to work during this period of time.
  • CCU debit cards will continue to work with other ATMs, but CCU ATMs will be temporarily unavailable beginning at 3 pm during the system merger.
  • CCU online, mobile, and telephone banking will be temporarily unavailable beginning at 3 pm during the system merger.
Following the completion of the merger, there will be no changes for existing Champion Credit Union members. Your accounts and the services we provide will remain unchanged, ensuring continuity in your experience.
